Cupcakes

Want

They're probably about as far from WW friendly as the amazing curry we had recently unless you have one and give the rest away, but hot damn are they cute.

I've got a chest infection and have been prescribed strong antibiotics which are causing all sorts of fun sound effects and stomach upset. It's not been a WW week really anyway, but I'm still counting where I can to stay in the habit of it. Next week, maybe - as I keep saying.

STS

Have STS for the past three weeks, trapped at 13st 7lbs. I've enjoyed being off track a bit - we discovered an amazing Indian restaurant, had chocolate brownies and hearty laughs at The Comedy Store, visited Pierre Victoire for dishes we couldn't pronounce at fantastic prices, and I've generally enjoyed the occasional extra treat like the new Weight Watchers chocolate slices, which are divine and much like cocktails; cannot be consumed singularly.

I'm home sick today suffering stomach cramps - I managed to eat two tiny meals yesterday before giving up, the pain was that bad. I slept for four hours after I got home at one, and decided it was worth calling in sick today since things are so quiet there right now anyway. I do feel slightly better this morning; whether the nausea will return now I've had something to eat is to be seen. It's horrible not being able to eat though - I feel so abnormal when I don't want food. I polished off nine points yesterday - maybe I'll have a loss this week after all.

Catch up

So I'm down to 13st 7lbs - officially three and a half stone off so far. 10st 10 not looking so far off any more :)

Had a really good week with WW - it's the first week I've been on 22 points that it hasn't been a struggle and I think I stuck to them give/take a point. We had Chinese on Friday so I guess that might have busted it a bit, but I saved well during the day, we shared just a small popcorn and walked home from the cinema after The Incredible Hulk.

WW geek

It's official, I'm a dieting nerd.

I've gotten bored of the small choice in the cereal selection boxes - they're the perfect size at 25-30g but it was time I treated myself to some alternatives.

So the sweet Sainsbury's delivery guy (who was extremely amused by my fennel) delivered boxes of Crunchy Nut Clusters and Coco pop rocks - yeah, I love the kids cereal, so sue me. I just spent the last 1/2 hour weighing out 40g servings into little sandwich bags so I don't have to worry about having scales at work. The Crunch Nut portions look pretty small, but the latter look alright - about the same as you would get from the mini boxes. I just hope they fill me up enough!

Dinner this evening was mushroom and spinach cannelloni by Cauldron - extremely tasty and - although high in points at 7.5 - a joy to have a proper cheesy and creamy dish!

Collaboration

Bunch of updates from IAM, messages to other WW members and general muddle of thoughts to update:

Forum update;

Urgh, what a horrible holiday. I went out there with a cold, got over it in time to get sunburned in the pool (Harvey - my phoenix tattoo - is not impressed), got over that in time to get food poisoning - and then we came home.
I had some wonderful food and took the opportunity to enjoy very special treats like moussaka, vanilla ice cream milkshake, lots of Greek salad with feta cheese, pina colada cocktails, nutella flavoured ice cream (DIVINE) - but by the end of the holiday I'd clearly indulged too much. I don't know whether it was food poisoning or just high sensitivity to all the rich and unusual foods - but I (putting it mildly) emptied my bowels over the course of one long night, and didn't eat at all for the next two days...

Anyway, the happy result of this is that I got home and weighed in at exactly the same weight as when I left - 13st 12lbs. And although my WI day is tomorrow, I snuck on the scales today (three days after we got home) and I'm 2lb down. I'm actually looking forward to WI tomorrow morning, which is not something I can usually say after indulging. I'm seeing the SATC movie with my girlfriends tonight (YEAH BABY) and taking advantage of the huge park nearby to gain a few exercise points this afternoon on my way.
This afternoon we had quorn fajitas - 5.5 points for two wraps full of lovely quorn fajita strips, peppers, onions and Doritos mild salsa. Gorgeous!

Forum post;

I came across this on the WW site this afternoon - it's not a new one, but I think it's a pretty awesome sounding pasta/potato topping;

Aubergine, Mushroom and Tomato Bolognaise

Serves 4 /Zero POINTS values per serving of sauce / Core Plan™

Finely chop 1 medium aubergine, 1 onion, 2 garlic cloves and 175g mushrooms. Cook in a non-stick frying pan or wok sprayed with low fat cooking spray until softened. Add a 400g can of tomatoes and 2 tsp Italian mixed dried herbs. Cook over a low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring often, until reduced and thickened. Season, then use to fill jacket potatoes or spoon onto cooked spaghetti (add extra POINTS values).

Message;

I'm not really inspired to stay within my points at the moment (22 a day), but I am continuing to track - it suits my appreciation for lists and details and "blogging" so is always easy. I know what you mean about feeling huge - I'm happy with my general overall weight loss, but I badly want my stomach to get smaller. I know it has because I'm down two dress sizes, but it's the only bit of me I can't see in the mirror as being smaller. My thighs are firmer, my arms less wobbly, my face has new definition and I do feel lighter walking up stairs etc... but I have a big juicy belly and I hate it at the moment!

Overall;

I weighed in at 13st 10lbs this morning, so not too much to complain about. I've got three days before the Sainsburys delivery arrives with lunches, so I'm going to have to be inventive this week. I'm meant to be cooking pasta to take in tomorrow... ah well. Mondays are usually a bit of a write off for being organised anyway!
We had a wonderful Chilli con Carne for dinner which was slow cooked lean beef steak with very little else - deliciously home made and perfectly complimented with a little mayo and mango salsa we put together.

Holiday

I'm half way to goal - 3st 2lbs down - exactly between 10st 10 goal and my 17st start weight. I've had two weeks of STS, but considering the stress I've been under it's no real suprise. I don't really mind either. Tonight we're leaving for Greece, 6am flight from Gatwick tomorrow. I'm not going to point, but I'm going to be careful and I'm packing some WW cookies etc for naughty moments.

We're basically all packed and ready - I'm still waiting for a red wash to finish drying (most of my undies are now red or pink) and I can finish with the main bag. I've been making lists all week and my last one was to go shopping - I'm coming down with a cold (thanks bitch at work) so it was paracetamol and a few other bits from Boots; done during a lunch date this afternoon with the girls which was lovely.

Anyway, update when I get back.
